Where Do I Land on the Kinsey Scale

The Kinsey scale, also called the Heterosexual–Homosexual Rating Scale, is used in research to describe a person's sexual orientation based on one's experience or response at a given time. The scale typically ranges from 0, meaning exclusively heterosexual, to a 6, meaning exclusively homosexual

Where do your characters fall on the scale?

@ Adrestia Dantés - Her muse is feeling a 1/2

@Benevolence Montague - She feels like a 1

@Cadawalader Selwyn - He would say he is a 1, but probably a 2

@Elizabeth Cardew - She is a 0/1

@Emma Binns - No idea yet

@Ginevra Blackwood - a solid 3

@ Gwendolyn Vane-Tempest DEf impacted by the propriety of the situation but a 2

@ Jack Cardew - He is fully into the ladies- 0

@Madeleine Backus - Possibly a 1/2

@Meserimus Valenduris - He is a 1

@Murdock Greyback - possibly a 0

@ Natsuko Mountbatton - She is seuxally a 4 but would be a power partner for the right person

@Rose Hart - She's a 4 but she sort of making a decision to stay away from men, so feeling slightly artificially inflated towards women.

@ Samuel St.John-Black - He feels like a solid 0/1

@Yuri Podsnapper - Not sure yet

Seneca Lestrange — Played by Soph

Seneca - a 1 I'd say because I can see her getting infatuated with a woman if she was the right one.

@ Cecily Gallivan - 1 again. She finds some women really pretty but since she doesn't really have any experience with either gender, I don't think she has thought about viewing women that way.

@ Meta Lestrange - She's giving me 3 vibes. She feels more comfortable being vulnerable around women, because her male archetype is her father, who used Crucio on her. And she generally views men as this thing that takes away her freedom. But she is also a tomboy somewhat, so idk.

@ Ruby Urquart - 0 or 1. She's looking for the archetypal white knight man to "save" her, but I feel like she might feel vulnerable/loving towards a woman, idk.

@ Christobal Vainart - 2 or 3. I always viewed him as someone with repressed homosexual tendencies that he refuses to acknowledge. But yes, penises arouse him just as vaginas do. He just feels extreme disgust at himself for that, so he'd be super avoidant about it. IDK. He's having a hot and heavy thread with Emrys rn, so we'll see how that goes ;)

@ Marcus Lytton - 0. Even though he has a stereotypically "homosexual" career, he never struck me as someone who would be into men. And I actually kinda like that, because I wouldn't want to play a gay stereotype of the perky fashion designer/hairdresser/etc. xD

Flora Mulciber — Played by Bree

I will not cover everyone but I will try the adults:

Bella is probably a 1/2. She's definitely more into men, but I could see her being into a woman if they gave her the emotional security she's in need of (which men have not given her >.>).

Dionisia is a solid 3. She's not very romantically inclined to begin with, but has felt sexual attraction to both genders. She's definitely checked Zelda out once or twice over the years, and probably thinks her husband is hot af but feels too guilty about her ~situation~ to allow herself to have real feelings.

Edric is a 0. Very heterosexual.

Ernie is 5, probably. He's definitely gay but he's probably questioned that over the years because of one or two women he's been attracted to.

Finnian is probably a 1/2 as well. He definitely loves the ladies, but I don't doubt that he'd make a pass at a guy if he was drunk enough or in love enough. He probably hasn't done anything IC, though.

Freddie gives me 1 vibes, but he literally hasn't had sex with a woman let alone a man, so.

Handsome is a 2. I've always considered whether he'd actually end up bisexual or not, but he never got attached to another male character so the world will never know /shrug

Helga is a 0. Boy-crazy.

Lyre is probably asexual, so. He only seems women appealing in terms of marriageability.

Freya Selwyn — Played by Emma

Tortured Wife of Daniel Selwyn

Beau is too new for me to have a solid read, but I think he's going to end up around a 1.

Modern day Freya would likely have had a lesbian experience in college and decided while it was pleasant it wasn't something she dreamt of repeating, so probably another 1 there.

Jo is a 3/4. I sometimes wonder if she's just attracted to anyone/everyone because I haven't found a character she wouldn't bang yet <_<

Maggie is a 0. Has never even considered other women attractive outside of a "oh they're pretty".

Melody is probably a 1/2. I don't think she knows homosexuality is a thing and therefore hasn't ever considered it. Somewhere down the line, maybe?

Will is a solid 0. He's seen enough of other dudes in locker rooms to know he doesn't like what he sees.

Ophelia Devine — Played by Lynn

6
5
4: Emrys
3: Jules (could move up or down one, not sure yet)
2: Alfred with a sailboat
1: Ophelia, Ben (might both be in the 1.5/2 range but #VEpropriety)
0: Thom, Ernest, Alfred with no boats around
-3: Tiberius

?: Adam

But I also think for some characters they'd have a different number on a hetero/homoromantic scale than on a hetero/homosexual scale, so there's that.

Especially in this, the heyday of homosocial relationships!

100% -and there is a definite scew in my characters based on the social pressures as well - Gwen is a good example - She would be almost 100% homosocial, would force or tolerate more heterosexual influences because of the period than she might in a more modern context. So she is 2 here, but in a modern rpg would probably be 3-4

Calla Potts — Played by Nichole

Annabeth - I feel like she would be a solid 0. To caught up in her romance books and an idea of a knight.

Germander - Probably a zero? Haven't really thought too much about but it seems right.

Iziza - Ummmmm honestly the last thing on her mind but probably 0/1.

Magdalene - I'm going to say 0 but I could be worng

Octavia Rose - 1/2, Will rise as she gets older, right now she definitely checked out women but the thought it could go further than that has not yet crossed her mind. She hasn't even realized she thinks women are attractive in the same way as men yet. Once she does, she'll probably be an even 3.

Victorius - 0

Winifred - I'm getting 1 vibes. The propriety of the situation means she has never even considered and it would likely take her meeting as what she views as her soulmate to really actually think about it.

Everyone else is a child.

Lady is utterly amazing!!

Billie Farrow — Played by Finn

@ Clementine Rookwood is likely a 4 leaaaaning 5. She's still figuring that out. Poor girl is very confused.

@ Deanna Benwick feels like a 3 for some reason, but she's too concentrated on meddling in other people's affairs to investigate that. I could see her having romantic feeling for someone in one of her ladies circles, but she's too proper to pursue it.

@ Jonathan Lawrence is solidly a 0.

@ Zachariah Binns is probably a 1.5? I feel like he appreciates certain men in more than a friendship way if they are particularly attractive intellectually. (If that makes sense haha) But, he would never make a move on them. His heart is with Rosie Binns.

@ Thomas Montgomery , for some reason, feels like a 2. I feel like, if the right guy came along, he'd find himself questioning and VERY ANGRY about it. He doesn't like to feel confused.

@Billie Farrow is, at the moment, fairly uninterested in any romantic pursuits. However, based on her 'kid crushes,' I'd say she's a five 5. However, if she ever decided she truly feels like she's male, she'd be a 1. She's still questioning if she's trans, or if she simply just feels more free to be herself by not having to buckle under the constraints of being a female in the 1890s.

The rest of mine, I don't know for sure since they're young children, or I haven't given it much thought. Here's where I think some might be headed in the future, though:

@ Archer Belby Honestly, I could see him being asexual. Only time will tell.
@ Fleur Rey is probably a 0 or a 1.
@ Eli Fox , @ Gareth Timmons , and @ Leo Lupin are giant question marks.
